Frequently Asked Questions
About Savi
What is Savi?
Savi is the only app built to protect your whole family from spam and scams — across calls and texts, 24/7.
We combine smart voicemail, text protection, On-Call scam detection, and Scamwise — our free scam checker — into one app that goes beyond your phone's built-in protection.
Whether you're protecting your own inbox or looking out for an aging parent, Savi helps keep everyone safe by blocking and flagging scams before they can cause harm. Plus, we'll automatically clean up all your junk messages, too.
What does Savi do?
Savi protects you from scams across calls, texts, and voicemail. It has four core features:
- Savi Voicemail — Savi acts as your smarter, safer voicemail. When an unknown caller comes in, Savi takes a message, identifies who's real, and filters spam and scam attempts so you only see what's worth your attention.
- Text Protection — Automatically filters scam and spam texts to junk before you ever see them (iPhone only).
- Savi On-Call — Add Savi silently to any live call for a real-time read on whether something is a scam.
- Scamwise — Submit any suspicious message, image, or situation and get a clear verdict instantly. Free to use even without a subscription.
What is Scamwise?
Scamwise is Savi's free scam-checking tool. Paste in any website, message, or phone number and get an answer instantly.
On the web: Visit scamwise.com — no account needed.
In the app: Create a free account and use Scamwise directly in the Savi app. Available on iOS and Android.
Scamwise is always free. No trial, no credit card required.
What devices does Savi work on?
iPhone (iOS): Full protection — Savi Voicemail, Text Protection (SMS and iMessage), Savi On-Call, and Scamwise.
Android: Savi Voicemail, Savi On-Call, and Scamwise. Text Protection is not available on Android due to platform-level restrictions on third-party SMS filtering.
Scamwise: Visit scamwise.com to use Scamwise in any browser on desktop, mobile, or tablet. To use Scamwise as an app, you can download the Savi app on iPhone or Android.
The Savi app is not available on tablet or desktop at this time.
Can I use Savi as an individual or is it only for families?
Savi works great for individuals as well as families. One subscription protects your phone with Savi Voicemail, Text Protection, Savi On-Call, and Scamwise — no family members required.
If you decide to add family members later, they're covered under the same subscription at no extra cost.
Does Savi work with my carrier?
Savi works with most major US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and more. If your carrier supports conditional call forwarding — and most do — Savi will work.
During setup, the app detects your carrier automatically and walks you through activation. Some prepaid or smaller carriers may not support call forwarding. If that's the case, the app will let you know, and Scamwise will still work without any carrier dependency.
Not sure about your carrier? Contact us (support@savisecurity.com) and we'll check for you.
Is Savi available outside the US?
Savi is currently available in the United States only. We're focused on getting the US experience right before expanding. If you're interested in international availability, let us know — it helps us prioritize what's next.
What's the difference between a Guardian and a Member?
Guardian: The account owner. You manage the subscription, add family members, and see an overview of who is protected on your plan. You must be 18 or older.
Member: A protected family member — often a partner, parent, grandparent, or teen (13+). Members use Savi on their own phone and see their own inbox and protection status. They don't manage billing or other Members.
One subscription covers the Guardian and every Member. No extra charge per person.

How do I set up Savi Voicemail?
After you create your account, you'll be guided through activating Savi Voicemail. This involves setting up call forwarding so that Savi can act as your smarter, safer voicemail.
Once activated, unknown callers are routed to Savi Voicemail instead of your phone's regular voicemail. Savi listens to the message, transcribes it, and tells you whether it's a scam, spam, or legitimate and worth your time.
To set up Savi Voicemail, open the Savi app > Profile > Settings > Savi Voicemail. You'll be guided through setup from there.
It takes about 3 minutes. If you run into trouble, our support team can walk you through it.
How do I set up Text Protection?
After you create your account, Savi walks you through setting up Savi Text Protection if you're on iPhone.*
Once set up, your texts will be automatically filtered and organized into folders, so that you see the ones that matter, and junk gets sent to the spam folder (similar to your email inbox).
Setup takes about 2 minutes. If you run into trouble, our support team can walk you through it.
*Text Protection is only available on iPhone due to Google restrictions on Android.
How do I add family members to my plan?
In the Savi app, go to the Family tab and tap Add Member. Enter their name and phone number. They'll receive an SMS invite to download Savi and set up protection on their phone.
There's no limit on how many Members you can add, and no extra charge per person. Your subscription covers everyone.
Pricing & Billing
How much does Savi cost?
Savi's premium plan is $7.99/month, or $5.25/month billed yearly ($62.99/year — 34% savings). One subscription covers everyone in your family. No per-person fees.
Payment is handled through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel anytime. Scamwise, our free scam checker, is free to use without a subscription. Learn more on our pricing page.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You get a 14-day free trial on the annual plan or a 7-day free trial on the monthly plan. You won't be charged until the trial ends and you can cancel anytime during the trial at no cost.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime through the platform where you subscribed. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
If you subscribed via the App Store:
→ Open Settings on your iPhone
→ Tap your name
→ Subscriptions
→ Find Savi and tap Cancel Subscription
If you subscribed via Google Play:
→ Open the Google Play app
→ Tap your profile
→ Payments & Subscriptions
→ Subscriptions
→ Find Savi and tap Cancel
After cancellation, your protection stays active until the end of your current billing period.
Data & Privacy
Is my data kept private?
Yes. We take security, privacy, and user trust seriously. With your permission, we collect only the minimum information needed to provide accurate detection and to improve our protection over time. For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How does Savi use AI?
Scammers use AI to make scams more convincing, more personalized, and harder to detect. Savi uses AI to fight against them.
Savi leverages AI to analyze messages for scam signals and patterns that go beyond the built-in features of your phone and flag threats before they can cause harm. We carefully vet our AI partners for security and privacy, and the providers we use are specifically prohibited from training their models on your information.
Can the Guardian see a family member's calls and messages?
No. The Guardian never sees voicemail transcripts, audio, text messages, call logs, or contacts for any family member. They only know that the person has successfully joined the account and has protection set up.
Your calls and messages are private. This is a core part of how Savi is built.
How do I delete my account and data?
Contact our support team at support@savisecurity.com or through the in-app chat. We'll process your request and confirm once your data has been removed.
Please note that account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
My calls aren't going to my Savi Voicemail. What do I do?
Check these first:
→ Open Savi and go to Profile
→ Savi Voicemail
→ Tap Test Savi Voicemail to check whether it's working
→ Tap Update Call Settings and follow the on-screen steps to make sure your phone settings are configured to let Savi act as your voicemail
→ Confirm the phone number listed on the Savi Voicemail screen is your current number
If you recently switched carriers or changed your phone number, you'll need to re-run setup. Go to Profile → Savi Voicemail → Set up Savi Voicemail and complete the carrier call to re-enable call forwarding on your new number or carrier.
If none of that helps, contact our support team via the in-app chat or at support@savisecurity.com.
How do I join a family account?
The account owner, or "Guardian," will need to share their 5-digit invite code with you. After that, you'll need to download the Savi app and input the 5-digit code during onboarding. You'll see the family name on your Home dashboard once you've successfully joined (for example: Jane's family). Note: you cannot be part of two families on Savi.
How do I get help?
In the app (signed-in customers): Open Savi and tap the chat icon. Our support team is available 24/7 and can answer most questions instantly. If that doesn't resolve your issue, you'll be connected to our team via email.
On the website (anyone): Use the contact form on our Contact page to send us a message. We respond within 48 hours on weekdays.
