Founders’ Story
It started with a call.
One afternoon, Patrick and Ryan's mom got a call from someone who sounded like their sister. The voice was panicked and begging for help. Then a stranger came on the line and demanded money in exchange for their sister's safety.
It was terrifying.
With some clear thinking and a lot of luck, their mom eventually figured out the call had to be a fake. But the experience left her shaken — and it left Patrick and Ryan with unsettling questions: Why mom? How had scams become so sophisticated and so scalable that they could target a 70-something widower in Kansas City with such a brutal, targeted set of tactics?
Patrick has spent his career in intelligence and cybersecurity. Previously, he was co-founder and CEO of a cybersecurity company that helped protect large enterprises. Ryan has built products at some of the world’s most recognized consumer technology companies serving millions of users everyday. As they began digging deeper into the problem from all angles, what they found was impossible to ignore.
Digital fraud is now the fastest-growing crime in America. With AI tools, scams are becoming so much harder to spot and far easier to deploy at scale. Every demographic is seeing more attacks and losses are growing at unprecedented rates. Yet the tools designed to protect consumers and families haven’t kept up.
So Patrick and Ryan founded Savi and we’re just getting started…
